TURNER SPORTS
  • Former NBA coach enters his 13th season as an analyst on Turner Sports' NBA telecasts. He also provided analysis for TNT's NBA Draft coverage from 1991-2002.
  • He worked as an analyst for TNT's coverage of the USA Basketball 2000 Games in Tokyo, Japan. He served in the same role for the 1999 Tournament of the Americas Olympic Qualifying.
  • He provided basketball analysis for the 2001 and 1998 Goodwill Games. He also worked as an analyst for TNT's coverage of the 1997 McDonald's Championship from Paris, France; the 1995 McDonald's Championship from London, England; and the 1994 World Championship of Basketball from Toronto, Canada.
  • Nominated for a 1999 & 1994 Sports Emmy.
  • Received the 2000 Curt Gowdy Electronic Media Award from the Basketball Hall of Fame.
  • Served as color analyst for basketball games on TNT's coverage of 1993 United States Olympic Festival from San Antonio, TX. He also provided analysis for the 1991 Pan Am Games from Havana, Cuba on TNT.
CAREER
  • Was previously with CBS for eight years, where he most recently served as lead analyst for its coverage of the NBA.
  • Since 1982, provided analysis for both college and pro basketball, becoming lead analyst at CBS in 1988. He first worked NBA games for USA Network in 1982 and also called Philadelphia 76ers and Detroit Pistons local broadcasts during the 1987-88 season.
  • Prior to his broadcasting career, Brown was one of the NBA's most respected and well-known figures, serving as head coach of the Atlanta Hawks (1976-81) and the New York Knicks (1982-87).
  • Before that, was head coach of the American Basketball Association's (ABA) Kentucky Colonels (1974-76), winning the ABA championship in 1975. He first entered the NBA ranks as an assistant coach for the Milwaukee Bucks under Larry Costello (1972-74).
PERSONAL
  • Earned NBA Coach-of-the-Year honors in 1978 with the Hawks.
  • Holds a masters degree in education from Niagara University.
