Two of the movie's taglines were "Through the good times. Through the bad times. When a Man Loves a Woman it's for all times" and "What Love Built A Secret Could Destroy."

Meg Ryan began her own production company in 1994, the year When a Man Loves a Woman was released. She named it Prufrock Pictures.

In 2000, John Frieda, one of the London-based top celebrity hairdressers, reports that the short "Meg Ryan shag" is the most popular women's hairstyle at a cost of between ¿50 - ¿100 (US $77 - $155). The Daily Express also confirms that Meg Ryan's cut is the era's most requested style.
