The Screen Actors Guild will honor its own at its 8th Annual Awards ceremonies on Sunday, March 10, 2002 at the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center, televised nationally on TNT (Turner Network Television) at 8 p.m. ET/PT, 7 p.m. Central, 6 p.m. MT.

Of the top industry accolades presented to performers, only the Screen Actors Guild Awards® are selected purely by actors peers. Two randomly selected panels totaling 4200 SAG members from across the United States chose this years Actor® nominees. The secret ballots were mailed January 3, 2002 and returned by the deadline of January 25, 2001 to K&H Integrity Voting Systems, the Awards official teller.

Awards ballots will be mailed on February 12, 2002 to the entire active membership of the Guild. Approximately 98,000 members throughout the country will vote on all acting categories. Ballots must be returned to K&H by Friday, March 8, 2002, where results will be tallied and sealed until they are opened by the presenters at the 8th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® ceremonies on March 10, 2002.

The Screen Actors Guild Post-Awards Gala, benefiting the Screen Actors Guild Foundation, will be hosted for the sixth consecutive year by People Magazine and the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF). GMC Yukon Denali joins People and EIF this year as a co-presenting sponsor. BALANCE® Bar is a co-sponsor of the Gala for the second consecutive year.
