The daughter of actress Kate Capshaw and step-daughter of Steven Speilberg, Jessica Capshaw's show biz roots run deep. Although she has turned her focus to acting, her first credited role was as an intern on step-dad Speilberg's Schindler's List. Capshaw made her debut in front of the camera in the 1997 film The Locusts (1997)and went on to appear in films such as Denial (1998), The Love Letter (1999), Killing Cinderella (2000), Big Time (2000), The Mesmerist (2002), Minority Report (2002) and Romeo Fire (2002). She is currently starring as Jamie Stringer on the acclaimed television series The Practice and appears in the feature film View From the Top (2003).
In Valentine Capshaw turns in a convincing performance as the insecure poor little rich girl. "Dorothy is fascinating because we all walk around with some insecurities that probably began in our childhood," Capshaw noted in an interview for the DVD release of the film. "We all look in the mirror and still see that."
