Matt Frewer
(Matt Praeger)
Matt Frewer plays case manager Matt Praeger, a brilliant criminologist whose past experience is with the FAA, Interpol and IATA. Praeger is intense and persistent, with a keen sense of sarcasm that helps him cope with the disturbing events constantly faced by the team.
A classically trained actor, Frewer is perhaps best known as the first major cyber-personality, Max Headroom, from the 1980s TV series of the same name.
Born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Canada, Frewer attended the same Peterborough, Ontario, area high school as Psi Factor co-star Barclay Hope. He trained for the stage in England, spending several years in such U.K. stage productions as The Glass Menagerie, Bent and A Comedy of Errors.
Frewer has also performed in dozens of feature films, TV movies and series. His feature film credits include Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, National Lampoon's Senior Trip, Lawnmower Man 2: Beyond Cyberspace and Dead Fire.
On television, he has starred in numerous telefilms, the mini-series of Stephen King's The Stand, and the series Shaky Ground, Doctor, Doctor, as well as the British and American versions of Max Headroom and is most recently at work in the role of Sherlock Holmes for Canadian television. He has also guest starred on the series St. Elsewhere, Miami Vice and The Outer Limits. Besides performing the voice of Panic in the animated feature Hercules, Frewer also has the distinction of being the first actor to give voice to the Pink Panther in the syndicated cartoon series.
