Why do you reduce the screen during movies/series credits in order to show a promo?
Standard industry practice has shifted to a more seamless presentation, most prominently represented by broadcast networks and their elimination of conventional end credits for many of their shows. During movies, we are often faced with credits lasting many minutes, which is time that we prefer to utilize, presenting information or promotional material which our viewers might find interesting. In the constant struggle to keep people watching your network longer, an extended credit crawl often has the same effect it has in a movie theatre - people leave, which is exactly what we would like to avoid.
